Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Group of forested quarries show part of a sequence of the Devonian. Limestones are bedded and platy with interlayers of marlstones. Rocks suffered regional and also contact metamorphosis. Fossils also present, as stromatoporoids and tabulates. Stratigraphically important locality.
Regional geologic unit: Bohemian Massif - crystalline complex and pre-Variscian Palaeozoic - Lugicum - Krkonoše-Jizerské hory Mts.crystalline complex
